To maintain client contact, provide emotional support in times of stress, help enhance the client's therapeutic leisure and social skills, and through skills which may include self-disclosure, (e.g., "here is what happened to me and what I did about it"), help to motivate the client to a life of recovery and abstinence from drug and alcohol addiction. Notify Nursing Staff and/or Counselor in the event of a crisis. Participate in the Admission process as directed and orient the client to the unit. Interact with clients and participate in the process of blocking AMA departures. Duplicate and collate materials to be used by staff and clients in treatment. Inform the counselor of significant interactions with client and/or family members on an Incident Report Form or other communication system as directed. Housekeeping (cleaning restrooms, taking out the trash, sanitizing rooms, etc.) Vital sign checks under the supervision of a nurse Bed/Head checks Any other task assigned by supervisor.
