About The Position

CD&D Technician - Erlanger, KY MAIN FUNCTION: A Beverage Technician is responsible for various lab functions for the beverage team, including preparing customer samples and conducting benchtop experiments at the direction of a Scientist. The primary goal of this position is to provide support for a Scientist to execute proactive and reactive customer projects while ensuring laboratory activities meet or exceed safety, technical and efficiency goals. Requirements

  • High School Diploma with 1 – 3 years relevant experience or BS with scientific focus or background.
  • Basic Scientific and Mathematical Skills – understands common scientific terminology, basic chemistry terms and concepts; capable of conducting basic algebraic functions (multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, parts per million, etc.).
  • Analytical Skills – competent with basic instrumentation and methods such as pH meters, titrations, balances.
  • Organization and Detail Oriented - able to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills – a team player who wants to contribute to a thriving culture with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills – capable of root-cause identification, considering alternative solutions and providing recommendations and solutions to Scientists and Managers.
  • Action Oriented – plans and quickly engages in appropriate activities when given a task or goal.
  • Creative thinker – consider multiple options and viewpoints when making decisions.
  • Computer Skills – comfortable with computer usage with standard office software.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain lab safety, organization and cleanliness; take personal responsibility to engage in lab and food safety practices to prevent hazards that cause foodborne illness or injury.
  • Batch beverages, make minor base modifications, screen ingredients to set use levels and execute minor formulation changes with supervision of a Scientist; update formulas accordingly in the formula database.
  • Prepare sample shipments and data sheets to accompany the samples.
  • Perform technical analysis on samples and record results in project file.
  • Understand and perform basic math conversions.
  • Monitor and order stock of ingredients for use in sampling; correctly store all products to ensure product integrity and maintain good workspace environment.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
