About The Position

Overview We are seeking an C CU Registered Nurse , also referred to as an CCU RN, Critical Care Nurse or Critical Care Unit RN. The CCU RN will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The C CU RN will have advanced skills in critical care settings, make quick decision s , and will be compassionate to all patient s . A CCU RN monitors vital signs, blood oxygen levels, administer IV Fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team to modify care plans accordingly. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed . Shift’s Available: Days Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN) Hours: 7:00AM - 7:00PM Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a Registered Nurse is required.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients
