Cleveland Clinic's Critical Care Transport (CCT) team is recognized as a world leader in transporting critical patients anywhere around the globe. The CCT team is an expert team of critical care providers available 24/7 to transport critically ill and injured patients of all ages. By initiating tertiary care during transfer, outcomes are often improved for many critically ill patients. This Team will focus on the Southern Ohio Region - Akron/Canton/Green Area Future caregivers will train at Main Campus for 3 months. A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, 6:30am - 6:30pm or 6:30pm - 6:30am. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide immediate medical treatment to critically ill or injured patients throughout the interfacility or scene transport process. Navigate an ambulance to respond to emergency calls. Assess the nature and extent of the illness or injury, administer appropriate emergency medical care, communicate with medical personnel at the hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program.
  • Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Three years of experience as an EMT-P in a critical care setting as a flight or surface transport paramedic or in-hospital experience.
  • Current valid Ohio driver's license and passport.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a larger metropolitan area.
  • Experience in an emergency room or in critical care transport.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. If not currently obtained, this will be required within 6 months of hire.
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification and flight paramedic certified. If not currently obtained, this will be required within 2 years of hire.
