About The Position

Outside Equipment Sales Professional will be responsible for the sale and leasing of new and used John Deere CCE (Commercial Compact) equipment and attachments while promoting all aspects of Doggett Company, LLC. in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills must be highly developed

  • Computer skills need to be broad based
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time or as needed
  • The Outside Sales Professional must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately, and without causing significant safety threat to self or others.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior direct sales experience and/or training preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Familiarity with construction equipment (skid steers & compact excavators) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Make frequent opportunity calls and generate new customers
  • Develop partnerships with current and potential clients to grow John Deere CCE market share in their territory
  • Sell whole-goods, parts, and service as a customer solution and build long term relationships within the territory to maximize customer and company profitability
  • Quote and negotiate prices and financing, prepare contracts, detail and close orders, effectively manage opportunities for closure
  • Plan, organize and execute sales strategies to include individual account plans to meet or exceed Company goals
  • Meet or exceed Company targets for units, dollars, and gross profit
  • Use Company provided systems/tools to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related sales activity in a timely and accurate manner. Use of the system should contribute directly to the proposal process, winning the sale, volume, territory awareness, participation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively understand and use manufacturers’ programs and resources to attain acceptable market share levels
  • Develop a keen awareness of the competition and competitive products, as well as business and industry trends
  • Coordinate and/or conduct field demonstrations, walk-arounds, as well as operate machinery at customer work site
  • Maintain strong knowledge of new and used equipment values and be able to evaluate properly for quoting and trading purposes
  • Work in conjunction with Sales Manager and Sales Support Group department, responsible for follow-up and expediting of whole good orders
  • Accountable for timely follow up on each sale to ensure customer satisfaction. Coordinate and/or communicate with customers and applicable departments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of Doggett Company, LLC
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
