The Seneca County CCE Nutrition/Human Ecology Educator will meet the nutrition and human ecology information needs of county residents by identifying, developing and delivering relevant programming, serving as the Association’s principal provider of these programs in Seneca County. The N/HE Educator will have primary responsibility in working with County food pantries as part of a Creating Healthy Schools and Communities grant providing support to institute Food Service Guidelines and other initiatives. The N/HE Educator will present public nutrition and cooking classes; food preservation workshops; nutrition education at farmers markets, festivals, and other community events; and promote the consumption of local foods. The educator will serve as the Association’s representative on local nutrition and human services related boards and committees. The educator will produce social media nutrition/HE posts and press releases as well as assist in the development and delivery of nutrition/HE promotion activities for community residents. The educator will identify and implement relevant Human Ecology programs (i.e. Parenting) that may meet community needs. The educator will collaborate with the Farm to School Coordinator and 4-H Issue Leader to assist with the delivery of F2S, Dairy in the Classroom lessons, and other needs as they arise. There will also be involvement in community garden activities and community events to promote local food consumption.
