About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a CBTC Project Manager. The expectation for this role is for the selected candidate to be in the client's office at Broadway, New York, NY. The Project Manager will define the scope of the project, with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and executing project assignments for the CBTC signaling system. This includes providing advice and guidance within rail systems on systems engineering and systems integration, applying advanced engineering methods, and developing technical designs and documentation based on client needs. The role also involves supporting CBTC system implementation schedules and cost estimates, reviewing technical designs for compliance, and preparing plans for transitioning operations to CBTC. The Project Manager will identify industry best practices, assess technical risks, and support clients in developing strategies for procurement and long-term maintenance of rail systems. The position requires ethical decision-making and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, transit and rail experience, and infrastructure design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Experience in delivery and design of large-scale metro and rail projects involving signal systems and train control work, including at least three projects with a construction value greater than $100,000,000.
  • Experience in CBTC technology with a minimum of 8 years of CBTC Project experience.
  • Experience coordinating design and construction of track, signal, communications, structural, and power disciplines.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to health, safety, and harassment policies.
  • Strong adaptability to change and flexibility in schedules.

  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and deliverables in a multi-project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define scope of project and execute project assignments for CBTC signaling system.
  • Provide advice and guidance on systems engineering and systems integration.
  • Apply advanced engineering methods to provide CBTC-related technical solutions.
  • Develop technical designs, plans, and documentation for Signal, CBTC, and Advanced Train Control Systems.
  • Support CBTC system implementation schedules and cost estimates.
  • Review technical designs and submittals for quality and compliance.
  • Prepare plans for transitioning operations to CBTC.
  • Identify and communicate industry best practices and trends.
  • Identify and assess technical risks and propose mitigations.
  • Support client in developing strategies for procurement and maintenance of rail systems.
  • Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources and conduct.
