About The Position

The National Security Sector, Homeland Security Solutions Division is seeking an accomplished Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support our Customs and Border Protection customer delivering results-oriented, Agile / SecDevOps software development and maintenance services. The successful candidate helps manage a program with more than 300 software engineers supporting more than 50 software products/applications. The DPM will ensure high quality and on-time delivery of projects throughout their entire lifecycle; collaborate with a diverse workforce within a matrix environment; communicate effectively in obtaining and synthesizing requirements from external stakeholders, while working with the team to implement new technical solutions leveraging advanced concepts; manage resources, budget, schedule, customer engagement, and ensure high end-user satisfaction. The DPM will possess strong creative, communication, and collaboration skills. DPM acts for the PM on all matters relating to work performed, during any absence of the PM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years experience OR Master's degree and 10+ years of experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years' Program Management experience on large-scale IT operations and maintenance contracts of similar size and scope.
  • DAWIA Level II Program Management, FAC-P/PM Senior Level, or Project Management Professional® (PMP®) certification required.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with various stakeholders, including leadership, peers, and external partners.
  • Active Customs and Border Protection Background Investigation (CBP BI) or Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, direct and coordinate planning and execution of all contract activities, and review the work of subordinates, including subcontractors, to ensure that the schedule, standards, and reporting responsibilities are met.
  • Ensure that all work on this contract complies with contract terms and conditions and is approved/coordinated with senior corporate managers.
  • Be the primary interface with the COR.
  • Provide technical advice on strategic issues, utilizing analytical methods and tools, including statistical methods, mathematical techniques, and process mapping.
  • Provide technical direction in program management, facilitation, and process improvement analysis.
  • Lead initiatives to correct unfavorable trends and deviations from established plans within the program.
  • Manage program resources across multiple projects, ensuring effective allocation and utilization.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact program success, develop risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate resolution.
  • Champion performance excellence and continuous service improvement.
