The CBD (Central Business District) Maintenance and Cleanliness team serves as the primary caretaker of public right of way spaces throughout Downtown Greensboro, 364 days a year. The team also supports several Special Events throughout the year; historically these events are on weekends and nighttime work may be required. Examples of special events consist of, but are not limited to: Fun Fourth, Folk Festival, A&T Homecoming, and other seasonal events. Generally, the work of the CBD Team is performed between 6:30 am and 3:00 pm, but may be extended to until task is complete. Weekends and holiday work is also required. (32+hours/week) Job Requirements The duties of the temporary labor personnel will include but are not limited to: Temporary personnel will assist the CBD team in the collection of litter on the downtown streets and public spaces with the right-of-way; also with the maintenance and cleaning of trashcans, sidewalks, landscape maintenance, etc. Will be required to use shovels, rakes, brooms, backpack blowers, weed eaters, Billy Goat vacuums, and other small hand and power tools. The physical requirements of the job are: standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling, and heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. This position requires working around traffic and heavy equipment; work will be performed outside in all weather conditions. May be called in for emergency type situations (such as storm damages) and will be subject to very limited time of notification; willingness to work during emergency situations as needed required. Must have and wear steel toe boots/shoes (OSHA approved) at all times Schedule is typically FRIDAY SATURDAY SUNDAY MONDAY 6:30am to 3pm or when finished for the day.
