About The Position

The CBA Supply Technician for the F-5 in Beaufort, SC is responsible for managing the requisitioning, processing, and inventory control of consumable and repairable parts and materials within the Naval Aviation Supply System. This role involves ensuring timely shipping, issuing, and stocking of components, as well as maintaining accurate documentation and data entry into computerized systems. The technician must possess a strong understanding of aviation supply systems and be customer-oriented, ensuring quality service in support of aircraft maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • Preferred to have four (4) years within the last six years experience in automated inventory control of parts, materials and equipment management and property management functions.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred to have completed formal training conducted by the U.S. Navy or Armed Forces equivalent, or training courses conducted by industry or civilian institutions or have a minimum of one (1) year experience in aviation maintenance or supply.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the packaging, storage, shipment and transfer of property and supplies.
  • Preferred to have thorough knowledge on Navy property accountability procedures, forms, and records.
  • Preferred to have working knowledge of the U.S. Navy supply system pertaining to aircraft parts, components, materials, and applicable maintenance/technical publications.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and follow technical manuals, directives, oral and written instructions, and other applicable data.
  • Must have knowledge of elementary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Must be familiar with general office concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Must be computer literate and be able to type at a rate of 20 words per minute.
  • Must be able to workdays, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Process priority and routine orders in the Navy Supply System and to commercial supply sources.
  • Enter data into computerized systems for the requisition of parts and upload requisition status.
  • Process repairable parts for intermediate level maintenance repair, cross-site repair, and to external repair facilities.
  • Issue, receive, inspect, inventory, transport, segregate, store, distribute, turn-in, ship, and deliver incoming and outgoing material in a timely manner.
  • Ensure materials received have proper documents and verify accuracy of stock identification, quantity, costs, condition, and other pertinent data.
  • Update records, receipts, and other applicable documents as necessary by use of data processing equipment.
  • Research parts substitutions, next higher assemblies, and aircraft configuration applications in Navy and Company publications.
  • Process and monitor Engineering Investigations and Product Quality Deficiency Reporting.
  • Submit Beyond Economical Repair (BER) and Beyond Physical Repair (BPR) components for disposition to government agencies.
  • Coordinate with program procurement and other responsible entities to ensure the timely purchase of parts, material and equipment.
  • Manage pre-expended bin stock to sustain aircraft maintenance.
  • Maintain and protect electronic sensitive parts.
  • Research and process warranty items, initiate claims and track information electronically.
  • Prepare and maintain deployment inventories to sustain operations for pilot carrier qualifications and weapons training detachments.
  • Prepare, maintain, file, and complete forms, records, reports, logs, and other related documents in accordance with applicable technical publications and other directives as required.
  • Compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, or supplies stocked in facility.
  • Conduct physical inventories of material in possession.
  • Perform daily office tasks such as filing, recording, copying, posting, typing, and answering phones.
  • Prepare and maintain a functional file system.
  • Use, inspect, and maintain assigned personal safety equipment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the work area.
  • Develop, formulate and improve methods, processes, and/or procedures to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance and training to lower classified personnel.
  • Participate in ESD training to increase knowledge and job skills as it relates to ESD.
  • Use approved methods/procedures in the performance of assigned job and report all observed unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Demonstrate job procedures and assist in the training of employees who are assigned to work in the classification.
  • Comply with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control Programs.
  • Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
  • Assist as directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of Government/Company owned equipment and supplies.
  • Work and communicate with internal and external clients and customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner.
