About The Position

The position involves maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures, ordnance systems, egress systems, structural components, and engines of varying complexity. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, aviation ordnance systems, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. The role requires applying technical knowledge of airframe, ordnance, and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation. Routine lifting beyond OSHA standards is required, including team lifts of ordnance items up to 167 pounds per team member, following standard USN procedures. The technician will apply professional technical expertise to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals. A comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair procedures, as well as aircraft sheet metal and structural modification and repair, is essential. The role also requires knowledge of aircraft unique tools and maintenance action data documentation. The technician will receive technical guidance from supervisors and may occasionally lead teams through complex tasks.
