About The Position

The Cattle Feed Sales Representative is responsible for driving beef feed sales within the south central North Dakota and north central South Dakota territory. This remote, field-based position focuses on optimizing market share and efficiency for cooperative/dealer partners by selling feed and related products, providing nutritional recommendations, and enhancing brand image through educational events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field strongly desired, or proven sales and industry experience.
• Previous sales experience highly desired.
• Basic command of making nutritional and feeding recommendations to cattle owners.
• Understanding of cattle husbandry, management practices, and nutritional guidelines.
• Work/life experience in management and care of cattle.
• Competent in providing accurate feeding and management recommendations.
• Strong computer skills, specifically in MS Office and ability to learn ration balancing software (HerdSmart), Salesforce, etc.
• Strong background and previous professional experience with cattle.

Responsibilities

• Call on beef cattle animal owners to evaluate existing feeding programs and recommend nutritional programs.
• Sell and consult at the farm gate with the goal of selling Purina products and growing sales and market share, including making up to 25 farm calls per week.
• Develop new prospects and make sales cold calls to increase customer base.
• Organize and conduct educational meetings/events for local clubs and organizations to enhance Purina's brand image and build store traffic.
