QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company's next-generation batteries are designed to enable greater energy density, faster charging and enhanced safety to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future. This position will be based onsite at our San Jose, CA offices.

  • Carry out experiments to understand qualification requirements of incoming materials
  • Optimize electrode and electrolyte materials to be stable at high voltage
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of experimental data to identify trends and draw conclusions related to material performance
  • Collaborate with chemists, materials scientists, process engineers, and technicians in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
  • Deliver high-quality technical reports to colleagues
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or related field
  • Superb communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Understand and follow safe chemical handling and laboratory practices
  • Experience with materials research
  • Experience with data analysis using python or JMP
