POSITION PURPOSE The Catheterization Technologist is an essential member of the Interventional Procedures team, providing technical and clinical support during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, electrophysiology, and neurointerventional procedures. The technologist works under the direction of physicians, assisting with hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, sterile scrubbing, and procedural documentation. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Operate and troubleshoot hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, and recording equipment. Scrub, circulate, or monitor cases while maintaining sterile technique. Prepare procedure rooms and ensure supplies/equipment readiness. Monitor patient vital signs and waveforms during procedures. Support patient care needs, including positioning, comfort, and safety. Provide clear communication and education to patients and families as appropriate. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED Requires knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of radiographic equipment consistent with applicable licensure,). Ability to achieve homeostasis from puncture sites using continuous manual pressure for a minimum of 30 minutes. Ability to participate in critical thinking promotes desired positive . Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language. Perform under stress when confronted with emergencies, critical, r situations in which work speed and sustained attention are required aspects of the job. Requires fine finger movements with above average dexterity. Requires sustained, long periods of standing.
