About The Position

Position Summary Career Readiness Learning Objectives: Communication: The student worker will assist the the Villa Maria Cathedral Preparatory Catholic School System ( VMCPCSS ) Advancement team with events planning and execution, messaging and marketing, bi-monthly alumni e-newsletter/digital communications, and general office/administrative support. Teamwork: The student worker will function as a member of the VMCPCSS team. The student worker will collaborate with the team to support Advancement functions. -This is an off-campus work-study position only eligible to students who have filed a FAFSA and have an unmet financial need. Student workers are considered employees of Gannon and are paid by the University. The VMCPCSS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer student Intern to support our Advancement functions. This internship provides hands-on experience in a mission-driven educational environment and is ideal for a Gannon University student interested in nonprofit administration, communications, and marketing. Summary of Essential Job Functions Work with the events leader to help plan and execute official Prep events including conception, planning, marketing, execution, and evaluation. Work with the annual fund manager to create messaging and marketing around the Prep Annual Fund Program. Work with staff to create a bi-monthly alumni e-newsletter template to communicate more effectively with VMCPCSS alumni via digital communications. Work on general office and administrative support including filing, organizing, and proper disposal of records and materials. Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently or part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good reading, comprehension, and communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with other department staff, alumni, and public
  • Candidates for this position must qualify for Federal Work Study to be eligible
  • The Financial Aid Office will determine your eligibility when you apply for this job posting
  • Candidates must provide their transportation to/from the work site
  • Possess a valid PA state driver’s license
  • High school graduate or Associate’s Degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
