About The Position

The Cath Lab Technologist works as a team member performing simple and complex diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional invasive cardiovascular and angiographic procedures in the adult and geriatric population. Operates the physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Positions and instructs the patient for the examinations. Ensures all patient care equipment is calibrated and that operational capabilities are tested consistent with departmental guidelines and regulations. Anticipates potential safety concerns in the environment of care and intervenes as necessary. Participates in educational activities, departmental committees, and other healthcare related projects as assigned. Provides direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources. Appraises the quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and communicates to responsible individuals. Provides accurate clinical and billing documentation. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required.
  • Minimum six months experience in a Radiology or Interventional Radiology Lab performing Diagnostic and Interventional procedures required.
  • Ability to handle suction devices and assist in intubations of patients.
  • Knowledge of procedures in the Special Procedures Section of Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
  • Active California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license required.
  • California Fluoroscopy license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
