About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Cath Lab Technologist to assist physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The technologist is responsible for preparing the sterile field, operating specialized imaging equipment, and monitoring patient vitals during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and pacemaker implantations. This role is critical in providing life-saving care to patients experiencing acute cardiac events.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT-R) with a CI or VI sub-specialty.
  • Current state licensure or registration where applicable.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
  • Proven experience in a high-volume cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology environment.
  • Strong technical proficiency in operating hemodynamic monitoring systems and power injectors.
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency, life-threatening situations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field for all surgical and diagnostic procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
  • Assist the interventional cardiologist by scrubbing in to provide necessary instruments, catheters, and guide wires during procedures.
  • Operate sophisticated X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment to produce high-quality images of the heart and vascular system.
  • Monitor and document patient hemodynamics, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation, during procedures.
  • Administer contrast media and assist with the administration of medications under the direct supervision of a physician.
  • Perform post-procedure site care, including the removal of arterial and venous sheaths and the application of manual pressure or closure devices.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment, ensuring all devices are calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
  • Participate in the "on-call" rotation to provide emergency coverage for STEMI or other acute cardiac cases.
