Job Summary: The Cath lab tech will assume duties such as using electrocardiography (EKG) equipment to help detect issues with the heart or blood vessels, taking patient medical histories, and assisting doctors with other tasks as needed during procedures. Position Summary: Performs technical functions, patient care, and other daily functions of the cardiac catheterization lab, the procedure room, and associated areas, as assigned, by the director or supervisor. Monitor, analyze, obtain, calculate and document data obtained in procedures. Alert physician to abnormalities or changes in patient responses. Assist in ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, cost efficiency, providing appropriate information towards future needs, and actively supports process improvement within the department. Explain testing procedures to patient in order to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
  • Diploma from a school of Cardiovascular Technology or graduate of a licensed Radiologic Technology school
  • Cath Lab experience required
  • RCIS Registry OR ARRT Licensure
  • BLS
  • ACLS within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Arrhythmia within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years in a health care setting preferred
  • Knowledge of sterile technique preferred
  • RT with VI or CI credential preferred
  • Demonstrates experience in establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment
