Short Description Assist in the care of patients undergoing procedures in the cardiac catheterization (CCL) and electrophysiology (EP) laboratories; primary functions will include: EKGs, transport, assistance with ADL’s, and performance of technical duties as directed by RN; this is including but not limited to: phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, and communication of changes in patients’ status to the RN while responding appropriately. Participates in maintaining regulatory readiness, Cooper’s patient satisfaction initiatives, departmental goals, and performance improvement projects

Requirements

  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to set priorities.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Must have successfully completed a certified nursing assistant or critical care technician course
  • Obtain and maintain BLS certification, and EKG certification to be maintained throughout employment; EKG certification will be achieved by the completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience with patient care, EKG certification preferred; upon hire will be trained and certified if previously not obtained.
