About The Position

The Cath Lab Technician Lead is responsible for demonstrating technical proficiency in all cardiac catheterization procedures, including functioning as a primary Cardiac Cath Lab Technician or Hemodynamic Recorder. This role provides oversight and leadership within the Cath Lab, assisting in operations and supporting quality patient care in coordination with Cath Lab leadership. The Lead Technician also supports staff education, inventory management, and compliance with policies and procedures to maintain efficient and effective lab operations.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or invasive cardiology environment required
  • CVT - Cardiovascular Tech required or
  • CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist required or
  • RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required or
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required and
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of leadership or team coordination experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists with cardiac catheterization procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventions, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and quality standards.
  • Supports education planning and implementation for new equipment, ensuring that staff are proficient with updated tools and technologies.
  • Manages and monitors inventory and quality control of lab equipment to maintain readiness and safety for all procedures.
  • Coordinates with physicians, nursing personnel, and other healthcare team members to facilitate diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology procedures.
  • Records, assembles, and manages data for databases, outcome analyses, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Applies knowledge of radiographic imaging, physiologic monitoring, and cardiac arrhythmias identification to support patient assessments and procedures.
  • Ensures accurate data entry into Physiologic Monitoring Systems for assessment of Hemodynamic pressure measurements and calculates intra-cardiac shunts, valve areas, and pressures as needed.
  • Archives angiographic and procedural data for long-term storage, verifying completeness in both hard copy and computerized formats.
  • Assists in the administration and handling of contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as required for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
