About The Position

The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional. The RN uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized care plan and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs. The RN helps patients transition through healthcare without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act. Delegation also considers each patient's condition and the employee's competencies.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Program.
• Two years of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate assessments according to standards.
• Identify and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing care plan.
• Modify the care plan to meet outcomes.
• Evaluate nursing practice quality and effectiveness.
• Support evidence-based practice changes through research and learning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Create a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Manage emotional and physical pain to promote relief and healing.
• Preserve and protect the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients.
• Facilitate learning for patients, families, and nursing staff.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and community to implement care plans.
• Use strategies and resources for problem-solving for patients and staff.
• Participate in mutual governance and decision-making processes.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth through continuing education.
