About The Position

Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures Prepare patients for procedures including assessment, consent verification, IV access, and pre-op education Assist physicians during procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, pacemaker insertions, and other vascular/cardiac interventions Administer medications and conscious sedation as ordered, while continuously monitoring patient response Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, cardiac monitors, and other Cath Lab-related devices Recognize and respond quickly to cardiac emergencies, changes in patient condition, and code situations Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe procedural environment Monitor patients during recovery and provide post-procedure care and discharge instructions Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes in the electronic medical record Collaborate closely with cardiologists, radiology staff, technologists, and interdisciplinary care teams Participate in on-call rotation as required by facility needs Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control guidelines

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab RN experience
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Experience with conscious sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, and circulating in Cath Lab procedures
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, emergency protocols, and interventional cardiology procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure and critical care situations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous travel nursing experience
  • Experience in EP Lab or Interventional Radiology is a plus
  • BSN
