About The Position

The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Mercy Medical Center, located in Aurora, IL. The role involves providing direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations, addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. The nurse will communicate continuously with physicians regarding patient conditions, assist with equipment maintenance and inventory, and ensure the readiness of procedure rooms and equipment. Responsibilities also include monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, recording patient conditions continuously, and participating in performance improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
• Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
• Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.
• One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Addresses psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Communicates continuously with physician about patient condition.
• Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory.
• Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness.
• Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met.
• Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data related to procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
• Monitors and records patients' conditions continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
