About The Position

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This full-service hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients. Under limited supervision, the Senior Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT) for Interventional Radiology.
  • Graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education for Cath Lab/EP Lab.
  • More than 3 years of Interventional experience.
  • Expertise in clinical skills relevant to the department and ability to train others.
  • BLS certification and active RT status upon hire for IR; RT-CV or VI registration required.
  • BLS and ACLS upon hire, Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certification for Cath Lab.
  • BLS and ACLS upon hire for EP Lab; Registered RCIS/RCES/RT required.

Responsibilities
