About The Position
The Cath Imaging Techonologist is a professional with advanced training in cardiovascular/interventional and special procedures. The Cath Imaging Technologist, under the general direction of the Nurse Director, shall perform professional functions involved in a variety of technical aspects. Technical Proficiency Assist the physician with positioning of the patient and adjustment of equipment. Knowledge of the proper set up and operation of the Intra Aortic Balloon Pump and Intravascular Ultrasound Equipment (IVUS). Maintains proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation. Identifies dysrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms correctly. Recognizes abnormal & adverse cardiopulmonary and peripheral vascular symptoms and takes appropriate action. Possesses and demonstrates in depth knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy & physiology, and interventions.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications
- A minimum of one year Cardiac Catherization Technologist or Interventional Radiology , upon hire or High School GED, upon hire
- Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA, upon hire
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire or Registered Cardiac Electr, upon hire or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, upon hire or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire
Responsibilities
- Assist the physician with positioning of the patient and adjustment of equipment.
