About The Position

Delaware North Sportservice is searching for a Catering Operations Manager to join our team at Miami Freedom Park in Miami, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all catering operations at Miami Freedom Park, supporting a wide range of events and daily service needs across the venue. This role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences for premium events, internal partners, and key stakeholders. The Catering Operations Manager will serve as a primary liaison between clients and internal teams, working closely with clients’ sales and operations teams to ensure alignment, responsiveness, and seamless execution. This position reports directly to the Director of Suites and Catering and requires a hands‑on, service‑driven leader with a strong operational mindset and a high level of accountability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in catering, banquets, or food and beverage operations within a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment (sports, entertainment, hospitality, or events preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing hourly and salaried teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering customized, service‑driven solutions
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with a hands‑on management approach
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event needs

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all catering and special event operations, ensuring seamless execution from planning through event close‑out
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients, building strong, trust‑based relationships and working closely with clients’ sales and operations teams to understand objectives, requirements, and service expectations
  • Proactively manage client communications before, during, and after events, ensuring timely responses, clear follow‑through, and a consistently high level of service
  • Drive catering sales through strategic upselling of food, beverage, and service enhancements to maximize revenue and elevate the guest experience
  • Act as a strategic partner to clients by anticipating needs, managing expectations, and delivering customized food and beverage solutions that align with premium service standards
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of approximately 20 direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and service excellence
  • Partner closely with the culinary team to coordinate menus, staffing, timelines, and execution for events of varying size and complexity
  • Be highly visible and hands‑on during events, playing an active role in event setup, service execution, and post‑event breakdown
  • Support a diverse range of catering needs, including premium and special events, client functions, employee dining, home and visiting teams, security staff, and broadcast crews
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Manage inventory, equipment, and event logistics to ensure operational efficiency and consistent service delivery
  • Collaborate with internal partners across operations, sales, and venue leadership to support overall venue objectives and enhance the client and guest experience
  • Effectively address operational challenges in real time, maintaining composure and sound judgment in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency when responding to client requests, issues, or last‑minute changes, recognizing that our primary client has high expectations regarding response times and service delivery
  • Collaborate closely with internal operations, culinary, and sales teams to quickly identify solutions and resolve issues with minimal impact to the client experience
  • Take ownership of challenges through resolution, ensuring clear communication, timely follow‑up, and continuous improvement to prevent future issues
