About The Position

Surrounded by fresh ingredients and the best equipment, you'll be immersed in a world that goes beyond food preparation - experimenting with different cuisines, flavors, and cooking styles. The Catering Cook plays a vital role in supporting Aramark Student Nutrition's district-wide catering program. This position works directly with the Chef and Logistics Assistant to prepare, deliver, and serve meals for school and district events. The Catering Assistant ensures every event is well-prepared, timely, and professionally executed while maintaining Aramark's standards for safety, sanitation, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Prior food service or catering experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain ServSafe Food Handler certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of catering events across district locations.
  • Prepare and organize food, beverages, and supplies according to event details provided by the Chef and Logistics Assistant.
  • Load and unload catering equipment and products safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver meals, beverages, and supplies to event sites using a district vehicle (when assigned).
  • Provide professional and friendly service during events, ensuring all client needs are met.
  • Return leftover supplies and food products to storage, maintaining proper rotation and freshness.
  • Maintain accurate records of event supplies, deliveries, and returns.
  • Keep catering areas organized, clean, and ready for upcoming events.
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, and rotating inventory items as needed.
  • Coordinate daily with the Chef, Logistics Assistant, and kitchen managers to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Communicate any shortages, scheduling conflicts, or equipment issues promptly.
  • Support district initiatives and special events as assigned by management.
