About The Position

The Category Strategist will develop and implement retail initiatives to meet and exceed Hershey and DG objectives. The Category Strategist will be an expert in the pervasive application of insights to fuel retail growth. Key to role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, shopper insights, financial insights, etc., to identify opportunities and develop solutions to drive retail growth across the store. The Category Strategist will influence and support 3 year and annual planning through the pervasive use of insights and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • This position requires previous Category Management and/or CPG Sales experience (approximately 5-7 years), advanced analytical skills, advanced understanding of consumer/shopper behavior and market research strategies and methods, knowledge of consumer sales industry trends and complete working knowledge of the category management process.

Responsibilities

  • DG CORE Candy Category Captain
  • The Indispensable Category partner to the DG Seasonal Buyer
  • Leads POG process to include strategy creation, item selection, planogram/merchandising, reporting, etc.
  • Utilizes many different data sources to include Circana, SOLVE, ExtraCare, Numerator, etc. to drive insights
  • Hershey Sales Partner
  • Collaborates with sales team on meeting strategy and preparation to include, but not limited to Customer Reviews, GCIC, JBP, bi-weekly meetings, etc.
  • Partners with Manager of Human Insights to develop and deploy the insights plan for the Dollar channel
