About The Position

The Category Manager - Direct role within the global procurement team of Straumann Group is responsible for ensuring supply and optimizing cost, quality, delivery, and services for the Swiss manufacturing site of Villeret, specifically for raw materials, chemicals, and services. The incumbent drives the execution of strategies and sourcing activities within the defined scope, aligning with the Global Category Director – Direct. This role may also support other Straumann Group manufacturing sites with operational issues and facilitate collaboration among procurement colleagues to leverage supplier spend, recommend sourcing and contracting process enhancements, and optimize material specifications to improve COGS and TCO. The position is based in Madrid and reports to the Global Category Director – Direct in Switzerland.

Requirements

  • Bachelor, academic degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Economics
  • Experience between 5 to 10 years in procurement of direct materials in an industrial environment (FMCG, pharmaceutical, aerospace, medical or high precision industries…)
  • Demonstrated performance in working remotely with several department and functions, with requisite drive and energy to be successful in delivering always keeping the internal customer (being a manufacturing site or a corporate function) as a priority.
  • Previous experience in using S2C digital platforms required (at least one year).
  • Previous experience in executing P2P Process transactions in SAP required (at least one year).
  • French and English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Autonomous and able to work remotely in a structured manner, take initiatives with good organizational skills; sense of priorities and urgency is valued
  • Must be able to clearly and concisely communicate, explain and report issues swiftly to stakeholders
  • Capable to manage multiple tasks and priorities including operational urgencies
  • Drive projects and tasks to completion in an agile environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguities, conflicts and adversarial relationships
  • Good negotiation skills with ability to drive timely their completion
  • Must be able to identify problems quickly, make sound judgments, establish and implement solutions and escalate if/when needed

Responsibilities

  • Source materials, goods, and services for the manufacturing site of Villeret and support other Straumann group manufacturing sites if needed for the portfolio of selected categories.
  • Execute sourcing activities in accordance with the global category strategy, and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulatory standards, applicable laws, ethical standards, and code of business conduct.
  • Conduct sourcing events identified for a category using the digital S2C tool, from supplier master data and onboarding, to sourcing event and contracting all executed in the procurement digital systems.
  • Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, process improvements and track the achieved results in the corporate procurement tool.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of value creation benefits (COGS improvement, NWC…) for the identified scope, and report regularly on the progress.
  • Maintain procurement systems to ensure continuous support of the material and service requirements and accuracy of data in SAP (master data, vendor master, source list), as well as accuracy of data in the digital platforms for S2C and Sustainable procurement.
