About The Position

Purpose: The Category Specialist will support the Category Manager in managing and delivering the specific Procurement responsibilities for the Category in support of the Strategic Business Unit. Essential Functions: Creation and management of PO’s for the category ensuring all Masterdata is accurate and supported by necessary documentation, working closely with plant/finance teams Standardization of formats and inputs to match invoice requirements. Solving of any mismatching errors Supporting Category/Plants with PPV reporting accuracy Implementation of tenders/RFQ’s (also in Ariba) including analysis of “Total Cost of Ownership” and subsequent negotiations of supply contracts as directed by the CM Management of supplier data in Ariba to ensure compliance, including certifications, Code of Conducts, Conflict minerals, etc. Tracking and promotion of ESG compliance including Ecovadis Supporting to implementing category strategies in the region Supporting the CM in analyzing, describing and managing the supply market for the categories (including supply base, competitors, cost structures, market dynamics etc.) Leading initiatives together with certain suppliers to deliver cost reduction, cash generation and mitigating supply risk Support delivery of the agreed savings program for the category, ensuring all savings are fully reported consistently within established Group reporting mechanisms Leading the resolution of quality and supply issues as directed by the CM Seek and promote opportunities from the supply base for innovation and cost reduction Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles Other duties as assigned by line manager. Scope/Dimensions: Process & Systems This role will support Category Manager in allocating and recording spend profile for the Category, including P2P activity working in ERP and web interfaces (SAP/CASS) ensuring accuracy of PO and invoice matching, PPV reporting, Supplier management, Supplier evaluation and risk. Commercial This role will lead certain Request for Quotation (RFQ’s), business cases, negotiations, and supplier relationships as directed by line manager. It will also support in the delivery of commercial KPI including savings and budget. Strategy and Risk This role will implement and follow the Procurement strategy for these categories in coordination with line manager and SBU & Manufacturing teams, including mitigating supply risk and ensuring consistent material quality and delivery for the NSG Plants. Influence This role will work alongside and influence stakeholders including SBU, Operations, R&D, Finance, P2P, Logistics, Supply Base Strategy Support Category Manager (CM) to develop strategies with key suppliers to ensure the best value for the NSG Group. Technical This role requires a proficiency to understand the technical aspects of the NSG manufacturing processes and the material supplier’s production processes. An ability to comprehend material technical data in the context of NSG requirements is also important. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills are essential as direct negotiations and sourcing will be a significant part of this role.
  • English language necessary
  • Time Management – good discipline and prioritization skills are instrumental to balance the support for daily and unforeseen issues with the necessary project work required to deliver the business needs.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain role
