The Category Sourcing Manager drives and supports the development of Spend Category practices for assigned Category, including sourcing strategy definition, execution, and stakeholder management, to maximize total cost of savings and p rocurement value contribution. Utilizes various strategic sourcing practices and levers to maximize category objectives to drive advantaged cost, quality and risk management goals. Works in collaboration with cross functional teams to understand business needs, category market insights, risks, and opportunities, and help drive Procurement goals. They deliver p rocurement value contribution to the Company while ensuring compliance with policies, strategies, and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree .
  • 5-8 years category business analytics experience.
  • Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and v-lookup), PowerPoint (graphic presentations) and Word.
  • Google Suite knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret data and link category management data to business scenarios.
  • Ability to create required ad hoc analysis and reporting utilizing analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and sell the story/recommendations as output of analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead category strategy development and planning.
  • Lead development of strategies (including category strategy, supplier management strategy, and P2P strategy) for assigned sub-Category to drive regional and global business expectations.
  • Lead supplier negotiation strategy and process.
  • Analyze spend ing data and understand business needs.
  • Provide market and supplier insights to maximize opportunities.
  • Develop sourcing strategy with implications on the business unit ( e.g. productivity, cash, revenue).
  • Support strategy execution across all category initiatives.
  • Functions as the channel data expert to support the internal team in all selling processes, forecasting consumption, Gross Sales, Loyalty and promotions.
  • Manage strategy alignment and execution for assigned Category .
  • Strategy communication and alignment with cross functional teams.
  • Prepare and plan for any of the go-to-market initiatives (RFXs, collaborative optimization discussions, bids, etc.) bids, and co-lead negotiations.
  • Actively engage in key initiatives (aggregate demand, construct bid packages, and support sourcing through supplier interactions) especially negotiations to ensure value levers are effectively played.
  • Project prioritization and securing resources for implementation.
  • Build knowledge base and insights: Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand business needs, market insights, risks, and opportunities.
  • Leverage analyst pool to create standardized process of building fact base, internal and external benchmarking and implement as part of the sourcing strategy.
  • Demonstrate Category Leadership Imperatives and Values to drive end-to-end value delivery for the assigned Category.
  • Support goals and drive KPI’s in accordance with the global Procurement vision.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, collaboration of teams, and supplier relationships
  • Identify and manage the connectivity of the Category teams with functional stakeholders, suppliers, and internal procurement teams (viz. Procurement Operations, Commercialization Procurement, Innovation Procurement).
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout the end-to-end sourcing process.
  • Lead and support supplier relationship management (SRM) program for the assigned Category.
  • Manage commercial supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Lead contract implementation and drive contract compliance in accordance with policies and processes.
  • Support contract compliance management, define and support corrective actions in alignment with cross functional teams to improve contract compliance.
  • Manage delivery of assigned KPI’s
  • Manage delivery of margin, innovation, cash flow and other deliverables for the assigned c ategory.
  • Be a point person responsible for delivery of goals for the assigned Category .
  • Support management of internal customer relationships related to defined Category.
  • Within the framework of the cross functional sourcing and supplier development teams, closely develop and manage the relationship with internal customers.
  • Manage internal customer feedback and supplier performance.
  • Improve and reinforce Procurement’s profile and recognition within the internal customer community.
