The Momofuku Goods Category & Shopper Development Manager is an execution-focused role responsible for applying category management, shopper insights, retail analytics, and performance insights to support Sales, Innovation, and Marketing. Reporting to the Senior Director of Consumer, Category, & Shopper Insights, this role focuses on translating insights into customer-ready materials, category reviews, dashboards, and recommendations that enable strong commercial execution across channels and customers, leveraging syndicated data, panel data, and retail POS analytics. Salary Description: $90,000 - $115,000 annually + bonus + company stock options

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in CPG category management, category strategy, retail analytics, or shopper/consumer insights.
  • Hands-on experience with syndicated data platforms (i.e. NIQ/Nielsen, Circana, SPINS) and familiarity with shopper panels (i.e. Numerator), retailer POS data systems, and panel data sources.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or SQL/data querying tools preferred.
  • Proven ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights and commercial recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 Years Food & beverage or premium CPG experience.
  • Experience supporting Sales or Customer teams directly.
  • Experience creating retailer schematics using space-planning resources (i.e. Blue Yonder, PlanoHero, Shelf Logic).
  • Exposure to retailer POS portals and omni-channel analytics.
  • Experience supporting retailer line reviews or category reviews.
  • Familiarity with trade promotion analysis, velocity forecasting inputs, and distribution expansion planning.
  • Proven familiarity with the Momofuku Goods brand, philosophy, and internal systems.

Responsibilities

  • COMMERCIAL & CUSTOMER ENABLEMENT Use syndicated, retailer shopper, and internal performance insights — including velocity analytics, ACV trends, distribution performance, and promotional lift metrics — to support customer presentations, line reviews, schematic development, and selling conversations.
  • Develop customer-ready materials that clearly communicate category context, product performance, and Momofuku’s role in the category, grounded in retail analytics and competitive benchmarking.
  • Support Sales with ongoing analytical and presentation needs tied to assortment, pricing, placement, promotion discussions, and trade promotion analysis.
  • Ensure insights are consistently translated into clear, practical recommendations that Sales teams can confidently take into meetings and apply to distribution expansion and velocity growth.
  • EVERGREEN SELLING MATERIALS & COLLATERAL Build and maintain evergreen brand and product selling materials for use across customers and channels.
  • Translate category and shopper insights into compelling, visually clear slides using strong data visualization best practices that support business reviews, strategy discussions, and planning meetings.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure alignment between brand strategy, messaging, and customer-facing materials.
  • Update selling collateral as performance, assortment, or strategy evolves based on retail performance and POS data.
  • REPORTING & DASHBOARD EXECUTION Build, maintain, and update recurring dashboards and reporting used by Sales, Marketing, and leadership, leveraging Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar BI/data visualization tools.
  • Execute standardized reporting for velocity, distribution, promotions, new item performance, and trade promotion analytics.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and clarity across all reporting outputs using BI-owned data systems as the source of truth.
  • Support ongoing improvements to reporting tools and templates to reduce manual work, improve usability, and enhance commercial forecasting support.
  • INNOVATION & CHANNEL SUPPORT Support Innovation and Marketing teams by applying category and shopper insights to innovation sizing, positioning, launch planning, and category growth strategy development.
  • Develop insight-based materials that help evaluate new concepts, formats, and pack strategies, including cups and bowls ramen platforms, using market sizing models and competitive velocity benchmarks.
  • Track and report early innovation performance and key learnings post-launch, including ACV growth, velocity trends, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Support channel-specific strategies by translating insights into actionable guidance for different retail environments using omnichannel analytics.
  • CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Finance, and BI to ensure insights are embedded into planning and execution.
  • Support internal strategy and business meetings with clear, data-backed materials and analysis grounded in syndicated data, panel data, and retailer POS platforms.
  • Contribute to broader Insights team initiatives, templates, and best practices as the function scales.
