About The Position

The PCNA Category Manager has full ownership and accountability for category growth and achieving sales performance measures for one or more categories.  The Category Manager actively manages the introduction of new products to support company sales, margin, turn and return on investment goals.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal, written and, presentation skills
  • Excellent performance analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or merchandising, or a similar program of study, or demonstrated interest in
  • Minimum, 3-5 years’ experience in product development or category management preferred
  • Minimum, 1-2 years management experience preferred
  • Experience in target customer and product trends
  • Strategic planning and merchandising experience
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% including both domestic and international travel

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages Category level plans that dovetail with Company’s strategic and financial direction ensuring SKU’s are “PO Ready” and that margin targets and investment goals are achieved.
  • Conducts and communicate competitive analysis for all businesses managed.
  • Manages the life cycle of the full SKU offering in each Category enhancing SKU productivity and minimizing obsolete inventory exposure.
  • Maintains accurate and timely product information to ensure all end users of the information have thorough and correct information to support sales of the item.
  • Responsible for forecasting accuracy as it relates to our S&OP (sales & operational planning) in order to provide our operations team with an accurate assessment of future production needs.
  • Works closely with our planning team to manage to an OTB (open to buy) by category to ensure we’re meeting our inventory and turn goals.
  • Drives category sales and margin growth to maintain or become #1 or # 2 in the industry within three years.
  • Directs timely execution of milestone events required to launch new product.
  • Contributes to company growth strategy through the development of new categories and brands.
  • Engages Operations Planning Team on all new initiatives.
  • Develops and execute training/sales tools to assist sales force with information on new and existing product lines.
  • Manages cross functional teams to drive innovative product launches.
  • Adheres to product launch timeline and action plans.
  • Drives Category Sales (Growth and Volume) Performance.
