About The Position

The Category Manager role at MLC is focused on developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing costs within specific categories to meet business objectives and enhance overall procurement efficiency. This position plays a critical role in ensuring cost savings, supplier quality, and long-term supply stability while collaborating with various internal teams to align procurement strategies with broader business goals.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and strategic sourcing methodologies.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive negotiating skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize procurement performance.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate favorable contracts.
• Conduct market research and analyze spend data to secure competitive pricing.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure sustained cost efficiencies.
• Track and report on savings achieved and assess procurement strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, Finance, and Quality.
• Analyze key performance metrics related to supplier performance and procurement efficiency.
