About The Position

The Category Manager at Disney is responsible for leading a team of sourcing professionals and overseeing the procurement process for complex Ride and Show projects. This role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal policies while optimizing costs and quality. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a focus on risk mitigation and brand protection.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Sourcing and Procurement, Design and Engineering, Legal, Project Management, Estimating, or Finance/Controls.
  • Experience with design/production/creative services sourcing strategies.
  • Familiarity with negotiation of key contractual language and terms.
  • Proven track record of integrity and ethics in professional settings.
  • Ability to establish trusted relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Solid leadership experience in coaching and developing talent.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Refined written and oral communication skills, with proficient presentation abilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and project management experience.
  • Ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment.

  • Master's degree in business or a quantitative discipline.
  • Legal and/or engineering background or knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify category-specific suppliers and consultants based on defined selection criteria.
  • Engage early in project development from ideation to completion of construction documents.
  • Manage competitive bidding processes (RFQ/RFP) in accordance with company policies.
  • Execute contracts and change orders, including post-award administration and negotiations.
  • Assist in implementing supplier performance management programs focusing on quality and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and best practices.
  • Analyze market industry trends and conditions.
  • Communicate and report to management on critical external relationships and market constraints.
  • Provide input into the development of Strategic Sourcing's annual plan.
