About The Position

As a Category Manager with the Marketing Strategic Sourcing team, you'll optimize the total cost of ownership and increase total value of our spend on products and services. You'll develop category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, contracting activities and relationship management across a subset of marketing sub-categories. This position will provide consistent exposure to Best Buy executives, large strategic suppliers, and highly complex agreements. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience.
  • 1 year of creative, media or production marketing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or MBA degrees.
  • 1 year of supervisory leadership experience.
  • 2 years of agency management or agency experience.
  • 2 years of creative, media or production marketing sourcing experience.
  • 2 years of experience in traditional procurement, category management, etc.
  • Possess natural curiosity, asking questions when necessary to understand a problem.
  • Ability to create and execute a strategic vision.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of category goals and deliver against set objectives.
  • Create end-to-end efficiencies and value proposition across multiple stakeholders, business objectives and suppliers.
  • Lead business partners in defining requirements for their needs.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts in line with Best Buy policies, and act as an escalation point for direct reports.
  • Leverage and influence relationships to gain input and/or buy-in for critical business decisions, and category strategies.
  • Set clear personal goals for self and direct reports, if applicable, as a key part of managing performance to drive business outcomes.
  • Develop Stakeholder management plan and proactively partner with all relevant teams.
