As a Global Supply Category Manager - Indirect, you will be working closely with your peers as part of an experienced team of strategic sourcing professionals located around the world. This role is responsible for maintaining the strategic sourcing direction of their assigned categories, refining and executing sourcing strategies in line with our enterprise goals, and supporting and enhancing processes to procure components and services. The Category Manager will participate in key initiatives such as annual savings projects, tariff mitigation, and aspects of our Elevate strategy. You will have the opportunity to work across global departments, building relationships and engagements with key stakeholders throughout Tennant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Basic SAP or related ERP experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills required
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Must possess high drive and self-initiative to obtain results
  • Demonstrated success initiating change and ability to influence at all levels
  • Confidence in role as an individual contributor and ability to lead through others

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and negotiations simultaneously
  • React and process/understand new information quickly with high numeric & deductive reasoning
  • Ability to accept ambiguity and be driven to find solutions to solve problems
  • Utilize historical spend data from multiple sources, product/service agreements, company budget and other data to proactively identify a pipeline of sourcing opportunities, reducing total cost of ownership and improving vendor performance.
  • Ability to turn data into stories and action items
  • Develop and drive global category strategies taking into account internal requirements and limitations as well as current and future external market conditions for the organization's global footprint.
  • Capture and maintain Total Cost Models for specific categories, programs and initiatives. Understand the different factors and calculations determining the total cost and provide insight into model and improvements.
  • Anticipate, acknowledge and mitigate Global Supply related issues in the assigned category group that may affect customers and business goals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key organizational functional associates and stakeholders across multiple global regions.
  • Support operations and warehousing with vendor relationship management, quarterly reviews and performance management.
  • Assist local and global plants leaders with their quest for optimization through vendor performance and TCO reduction programs.
  • Identify and evaluate cost saving opportunities, and lead projects to realize cost savings.
