About The Position

The Category Manager II at HealthTrust is responsible for developing and executing the overall strategy for assigned product categories. This role involves collaboration with suppliers, regulatory bodies, clinical teams, and sales to optimize product offerings and pricing. The Category Manager will analyze market trends, manage supplier relationships, and ensure timely delivery of products to healthcare customers, contributing to the strategic direction of the company's portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, finance, or business administration.
• 5+ years of experience in category management, supply chain management, or sourcing.
• Experience in a medical or multi-national environment is preferred.
• Engineering degree and/or MBA is a plus.

• Experience with international travel related to category management.

Responsibilities

• Develop overall strategy for assigned product categories.
• Research new products to ensure appropriate offerings for healthcare customers.
• Assess and manage supplier capabilities and market risks.
• Drive competitive sourcing activities in cooperation with supporting departments.
• Negotiate and operationalize supply contracts.
• Track and manage performance indicators related to supplier and category performance.
• Represent assigned categories to internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and drive functional change.
• Develop and maintain category collateral and content for customers and sales teams.
• Promote or upsell products during customer engagements.
• Generate reports highlighting department performance against goals.
