About The Position

Maplefields, a regional leader in convenience stores, is growing and is looking for a qualified candidate to join our marketing and merchandising team. This person will collaborate with our director of marketing to develop marketing programs and systems and will work with store personnel, vendors, and others to ensure that our retail marketing plans are being properly executed. This will be a high impact position working with direct interaction all stakeholders. What is in it for you? No two days are alike in retail and for some, like you, variety is embraced. We will help you develop an understanding of retail business fundamentals including assessing market conditions, inventory management, customer shopping patterns, marketing, and pricing strategies. A motivated person in this role can develop leadership skills and help to empower front line staff by providing clear guidance for marketing and promotion. This position includes local and regional travel for which a company vehicle, gas and maintenance will be provided. Home every night. Overnight stays are rare. Computer, smart phone, and other required electronic devices provided by the company.

Responsibilities

  • assist with food service development and promotions.
  • champion and lead various special projects throughout the year.
  • assist the Chef with special projects.
  • help or guide marketing efforts as a liaison between stores and primary office.
  • properly tag and price products in stores
  • assist the auditing team with researching store level issues affecting cost counts, inventories, and vendor issues.
  • collaborate with vendors to complete category resets.
  • work with store personnel to improve efficiency.
  • work with store personnel to maintain standards.
  • work with the training dept to create new training materials and update existing ones.
  • troubleshoot and assist in coordinating repairs of various store food service equipment, handheld scanners, and label makers.
  • assist with new store setups including assembling materials and equipment as needed.
  • assist with stocking new, remodeled, or reorganized stores.
