Role reports to: Sr Mngr Category Insights and Analytics Location: North America, United States, New Jersey, Summit Work Location: Hybrid What you will do The Category Manager is a critical new role on the Kenvue Amazon/TikTok Shop/Last Mile Team. You will be responsible for building and developing consultative partnerships with Amazon, TikTok Shop, and Instacart. As the Category Manager, you will help shape category growth plans based on key data, shopper and category insights and trends. This role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration, project leadership, thought leadership, and the ability to pull together strategic recommendations from insights and data. You will serve as a category expert, lead assortment assessments, business processes and have tool capabilities across key shopper / category systems such as POS, Syndicated Data, Stackline, and Profitero. This role demands the ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex, and changing business environment. This is a Hybrid position and will require up to 15% domestic travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ yrs of proven experience in the CPG industry - customer insights, category management and/or shopper insights for consumer or relevant business experience is required.
  • Deep analytical expertise and experience working with Stackline, Profitero, panel data, shopper-card data, and other research tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of Amazon structure, strategy, and execution tactics required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships is required.
  • Strong digital literacy, including advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite with an ability to draw accurate conclusions is required
  • Must have the ability to understand and interpret shopper and category insights research and a strong understanding of syndicated data (Circana or Nielsen) and Numerator panel
  • Ability to independently organize and complete assigned work is required
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to tailor skills and presentation style to a variety of key decision makers is required
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex information across multiple levels is required
  • Ability to develop and oversee the execution of project plans and to implement, execute and draw conclusions from a variety of customer, shopper, and category studies is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Instacart and/or TikTok Shop a plus.
  • Experience in people development preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Category Advisor across the entire Kenvue Portfolio – bringing strong unbiased thought leadership to our customers and the Kenvue Sales Team.
  • Support the Kenvue Sales Team during strategic planning moments such as power code assortment strategy work, innovation planning, AVN prep, and more.
  • Plan, champion and coordinate impactful category recommendations and best-practice sharing.
  • Provide unbiased strategic and tactical insights and recommendations to Amazon, TikTok Shop, and Instacart teams on Distribution, On Site Improvements, Accelerating Organic Traffic, and Pricing/Promotional opportunities to improve category performance online.
  • Uncover business opportunities with deep-dive analytics using a variety of resources including, but not limited to: POS, Syndicated Data, Marketplace & HH Panel Assessments, Stackline, Profitero, and Eversight.
  • Lead analytics to provide value-added reporting to the customer and Kenvue sales teams
  • Be a shopper and category champion within the organization, providing the voice of customers and shaping learning plans
  • Work on Category Strategy Development including growth plans for focus Segments/Brands, Regional/Demographic Opportunities, and Assortment Gaps
  • Influence and execute the online activation of on-site improvements, accelerating organic traffic, and improving assortment efficiency and performance.
  • Develop, leverage, and share omnichannel best-practices to enhance the entire Category Excellence team.
