About The Position

Category Implementation Buyer - roof rails, multi-action tailgates, and other exterior commodities Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive performance in quality. Including conducting supplier visits with Ford Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) to drive quality improvements and corrective actions, monitoring supplier performance metrics and improvement plans, and managing supplier risk mitigation activities to ensure continuity of quality supply Lead TVM negotiations to achieve multi-year agreements (MYAs). Including collaborating with buyers across VHMs and/or global regions when negotiating with shared suppliers, identifying and implement cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking, and maintaining cost tracking to meet financial targets Lead new model sourcing activities through PSA completion, ensuring approval milestones are achieved on time and at or below target cost. Including managing RFQs, cost analysis, and supplier capability assessments thru GCST and DSF approvals Work cross-functionally to support commodity objectives. Including developing & implementing Commodity Business Plans (CBPs) and other commodity focused initiatives to ensure supply is optimized for quality, cost, manufacturability, and supply chain efficiency Author detailed analyses, reports, and business papers for Senior Management related to commodity strategies, supplier base performance, and cost initiatives. Including analyzing supplier financial health and industry developments to support strategic decisions Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical sourcing standards; support continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain organization; and demonstrate resilience & adaptability in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration
  • 5-Years or more experience as a Ford Category Implementation Buyer with proven skills in supplier negotiations, cost management, and sourcing strategies
  • Proficiency in Ford procurement systems, cost analysis tools, and powerpoint
  • Team player with a positive “can do attitude”, resilient, and works effectively in a fast-paced environment
