Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Merchandising, or Design.
  • 7+ years in outdoor packs & bags experience.
  • 7+ years' experience in managing staff.
  • Proven background in developing innovative products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing successful product programs.
  • Experience in mentoring and driving product teams.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • Background in Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and evolve the technical product category.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and outside partners to prioritize and commercialize short and long-term technical opportunities.
  • Develop 3-year subcategory micro plans for Backpack, Hike, Climb, Bike, Run, Hydration, Snow, Outdoor & Hydration accessories.
  • Conduct 5-year and longer-term planning for key growth categories of Run, Bike, and Accessories.
  • Explore long term BHAG for new categories: Watersports, Hunt & Fish, Photo, Camping utility.
  • Conduct seasonal category market research and competitive analysis.
  • Gather and identify sales trends and needs from sales leadership, sales reps, and key retailer input.
  • Provide quarterly market share and trend research at the QBR meeting.
  • Partner with Global Design and marketing to identify and refine target customer personas.
  • Build annual category plans with return on investment for leadership team review.
  • Conduct seasonal product line planning and assortment reviews with Sales, marketing, and finance.
  • Develop a comprehensive GTM strategy for each product subcategory with related support needs.
  • Provide global forecasting support by series for sales leadership.
  • Instigate comprehensive field-testing program and warranty & repair assessment to ensure product quality.
  • Provide proactive timely information for legal research & review of potential IP clearance or application.
  • Support product launches with shared sales & marketing strategy development.
  • Ensure departmental priorities and top-level goals are communicated and supported within the global PLM and Design group.
  • Create departmental staffing and individual development plans.
  • Develop training and mentoring plans with annual departmental goal setting.

  • Competitive salary range of $130,000.00-195,000.00 annually based on location and experience.
