About The Position

Oversees category management functions and Planogram Floor Space Development Enterprise initiatives and store projects. Coordinates with appropriate management utilizes space productivity metrics and shopper based principles to maximize SKU and assortment mix space shelf allocation space floor allocation to deliver a consistent shopping experience and sales profit for a worldwide organization

Requirements

  • Total of 7 years of experience consisting of the following:
  • GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 3 years general experience which was gained in administrative professional technical or other responsible work which enabled applicant to gain a knowledge of retail and supply chain processes skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
  • 1 year of education above the high school may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor s degree for 3 years of general experience.
  • AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
  • 4 years progressive experience which provided background in Inventory optimization utilizing GMROI and GMROF analysis Utilizing space productivity metrics Analyzing performance metrics Retail and Supply chain processes Experience must include 2 year of exempt or non-exempt supervisory experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages all category managers as well as coordinating and prioritizing project driven assignments.
  • Utilizes appropriate analytics to understand assigned categories of merchandise. Utilizes space productivity metrics and principals to maximize SKU and assortment mix space shelf allocation space floor allocation sales and profits.
  • Provides analysis to Buyers Divisional Merchandise Manager and VP General Merchandise Manager.
  • Responsible for understanding customer segmentation and how it relates to assortment planning and the impact to customer in-store experience.
  • Collaborates with Space Planning Manager and Floor Planning Manager to optimize space in delivering brand experience targeted for specific categories and or store formats.
  • Oversees the creation and management of the Planogram and Space Management Program.
  • Oversees both the Category and Space Management teams to ensure all target dates are met.
  • Reviews merchandise assortments by category to ensure capacity and profitability requirements are met and the assortments align with the category and company strategy.
  • Coordinates with the buying teams to translate their strategic vision into store specific and prototypical merchandise plans within the assigned business area considering portfolio and SKU rationalization processes.
  • Directly impacts sales and space performance through strategies to maximize space.
  • Analyzes performance metrics and provides recommendations to management that identify potential opportunities to improve productivity of space.
  • Monitors competitive and industry activities including trends fads etc. regarding merchandise presentation in-store marketing packaging and assortment monitor the latest industry trends to continually improve the space planning systems and processes.
  • Reviews best practices that can be incorporated into merchandise planning and presentation.
  • Conducts planning meetings and reviews merchandise strategies with buying teams operation groups and planning groups.
  • Responsible for presenting to all levels of management.
  • Works under the supervision of the Divisional Merchandise Manager. Operates independently with the framework of NEXCOM policies procedures and regulations.
  • Exercises independent judgment and approach in routine and no routine situations.
  • Consults with supervisor on such issues as policy matters deviations from normal procedures or unusual circumstances.
  • Performance is evaluated on operational performance skills evaluations customer service collaboration and teamwork leadership and established individual performance objectives.
  • Assists Buyers in developing winning strategies for the department and organization proactive in designing solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure report OGE Form 450 as required
