Guy Carpenter LLC's Global Strategic Advisory group is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our team of Catastrophe Advisors. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team that utilizes engineering and economic research to assess the impact of various hazard scenarios, such as earthquakes, floods, wildfires, and hurricanes, on the property damage and financial losses faced by insurance companies. You will have the opportunity to work alongside top-tier professionals, acting as a client advisor in areas including catastrophe risk management, underwriting support, live event impacts, and reinsurance decision-making. This position involves using state-of-the-art software tools, such as Alteryx and DataBricks, to manage catastrophe modeling projects from inception to completion. As a Catastrophe Advisor, you will participate in a structured and robust training program that covers a wide array of skills, including vendor models, the insurance industry, reinsurance, project management, and public speaking. You will be responsible for organizing client data, checking data for reasonability, loading data into predictive models, running those models, and sharing insights with senior colleagues. Your role will also involve conducting research on industry and regulatory developments that affect loss liabilities, keeping teams updated on trends related to catastrophe risk management and reinsurance, and contributing to impactful discussions with clients regarding their reinsurance strategies. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be expected to develop strong relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and colleagues, assisting in promptly responding to client queries and concerns. You will also have the opportunity to take part in or lead internal initiatives, offering ideas and feedback to improve outcomes and help develop Guy Carpenter's thought leadership and industry expertise.
