About The Position

As a Cat Scan Tech (CT Tech) at Harris Regional Hospital, you will be part of a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. You will work in a comprehensive diagnostic imaging environment, utilizing the latest technology in a filmless setting with a picture-achieving communication system (PACS) that allows for immediate access to patient information. Your role will involve reviewing patient history, educating patients about procedures, administering contrast media, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring the quality of imaging results. This position requires a commitment to safety standards and quality control procedures, as well as troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.

Requirements

  • Must have a 2 year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree.
  • Current ARRT registration is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
