About The Position

The CAT Adjuster position at American Modern Insurance Group involves working on the frontlines to support customers during times of need and disaster. The role requires traveling to catastrophe areas to evaluate, negotiate, and settle property claims resulting from natural disasters. Adjusters may also handle day-to-day property claims when not deployed for catastrophes. This position demands excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure during peak periods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work/industry experience.
  • 4 years of experience in property claims or related field.
  • Proficiency in Symbility, Xactimate, or similar estimating platforms.
  • Ability to scope, diagram, and estimate property damages.
  • A clean driving record and a valid driver's license are required.
  • Ability to perform physical inspections, including climbing roofs and crawling in spaces.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous property claims experience is preferred.
  • Mobile home and dwelling construction knowledge preferred.
  • Industry training, coursework, certifications (AIC, CPCU, SCLA) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to catastrophe areas to evaluate, negotiate, and settle property claims resulting from natural disasters.
  • Perform field inspections of damages to determine coverage, including investigation, documentation, coverage analysis, estimation development, and subrogation/salvage assessment.
  • Provide guidance and support to policyholders throughout the claims process with prompt communication and excellent attention to detail.
