About The Position

As a Casualty Claims Designer, you play a key role in analyzing learning needs, designing instructional solutions and supporting employees through effective training experiences within the casualty claims environment. You contribute both strategically and operationally conducting needs analyses, developing targeted training materials and coordinating logistics to ensure learning initiatives directly support business objectives. You work closely with Claims teams in Accident Benefits and Bodily Injury, as well as Claims Legal Counsel, supporting learning needs that range from new hire onboarding to project‑based learning, workshops and specialized skill development. You collaborate with facilitators, stakeholders, partners and subject matter experts, offering guidance, coaching and recommendations rooted in strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of learning design principles. You also partner with the editing and multimedia teams to enhance learning materials and deliver polished, accessible experiences. Because you work with a wide range of stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to simplify complex claims content are essential. More specifically, you will be required to: Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify performance gaps, challenges, learner needs and required outcomes in the casualty claims area. Perform comprehensive training needs analyses to define objectives, audiences, constraints and recommended learning strategies. Coordinate end‑to-end design projects, including planning, timelines, stakeholder engagement and deliverables. Create structured training plans using effective instructional design methods, including the 80/20 rule. Develop high‑quality learning materials—eLearning, facilitator guides, job aids and other tools—using clear and effective writing techniques. Deliver pilot sessions, collect feedback and conduct follow‑ups to refine and improve the learning experience. Conduct ongoing annual maintenance on training materials by integrating SME insights, learner feedback, organizational updates and participation data. Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, while continuously strengthening your instructional design capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Experience in instructional design, learning development or a similar role (experience in insurance or casualty claims is an asset).
  • Experience conducting training needs analyses, including identifying performance gaps and recommending appropriate learning solutions.
  • Experience designing and developing learning materials, including eLearning modules, facilitator guides, participant materials, workshops and job aids.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and cross-functional partners to capture, validate and simplify technical information
  • Experience managing training projects, timelines and stakeholder expectations in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience facilitating pilots or feedback sessions and using insights to refine course content.
  • Expert proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
