About The Position

To maintain supply issue/delivery, to fill and deliver all orders, daily and weekly and maintain record keeping accuracy and productivity at a rate of 95% of standard. Maintain accurate inventory system. Receive and distribute incoming supplies and equipment and mail to appropriate departments upon receipt. Prepare outgoing shipments.

  • Must possess the ability to deal courteously and professionally with patients and staff members.
  • Must have integrity, honesty and the ability to maintain strictest confidence of all patient and organizational activities at all times.
  • Excellent verbal, telephone and customer service skills required.
  • Must possess a valid Minnesota driver's license and needs to be able to be on the company insurance policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
  • Ability to operate the electric pallet jack.
  • Basic Microsoft knowledge to include Outlook and Excel.

  • Related job experience in storage and distribution helpful and preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Controls, stores and accurately issues all items stored in inventory.
  • Removes items issued from inventory and charge to using departments in the Materials Management Information System.
  • Coordinates the distribution/delivery of hospital and clinical supplies with user departments on a scheduled basis.
  • Knowledge of clinical areas necessary for this function.
  • Prepares all outgoing mail, both going to post office and off site to our satellite locations.
  • Sorts all incoming mail and distributes in a timely manner.
  • Receives and distributes incoming supplies to appropriate departments.
  • Checks packing slips against items received to ensure proper receipt.
  • Makes local offsite pickup and deliveries as required including transportation of specimens, medical equipment and bank deposits.
  • Notifies the purchasing office when supplies reach reorder points or critically low levels.
  • Maintains a neat clean and safe work environment using good storage/distribution techniques including proper location, rotation, identification, documentation and organization.
  • Handling and storing of sterile supplies.
  • Assists in taking inventory.
  • Assists in other functions as assigned by the Materials Manager.
  • Calls vendors for un-received items to check status and verify any mis-shipped items.
  • Maintains departmental weekly order sheets in Excel.
  • Trains staff on the use of the Materials Management Information system.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
