About The Position

Position Summary: Execute goals and objectives set by the Production Supervisor and/or Manager to ensure an effective and efficient work environment. Provide support to the light-industrial production area which will require manually moving, stacking, unstacking, reconfiguring or combining and otherwise manipulating packages to prepare them for transport or storage within the warehouse. Effectively process relevant written and verbal communication to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and correctly. Effectively carry on work assignments as directed. Actively engage in production-related and food safety programs.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate and process information in verbal or written format and effectively respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees, customers and the general public. This includes the ability to read and fully comprehend policy and procedural documents, instructional materials, and shipment-related information and documents.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages as well as draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to correctly read, interpret and process lengthy strings of individual digits in their correct order.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Be able to effectively work and process received instructions in an environment where noise levels may be elevated
  • Use hands to finger, handle, touch, and/or manipulate items and equipment controls. This includes the ability to consistently lift, push, and otherwise manipulate cases of product on the floor, on a conveyor belt, or overhead.

  • Stand for extended periods, walk, and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Repeatedly and consistently, lift, move, and stack cases weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and walk while handling cases of product
  • Have full vision abilities (with or without correction) to include proximate vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of RF-based warehouse technologies and operating RF equipment
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months of prior warehouse experience
  • High-School Diploma or GED
  • Similar combinations of experience and/or education will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Company s attendance/tardiness standards
  • Comply with company safety and operational processes and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, compliance with equipment inspection requirements, company policies on the safe operation of conveyor-belt enabled machinery, company policies on the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), etc.
  • Comply with all other company policies and expected standards of behavior
  • Actively engage in food-safety compliance programs. This includes monitoring for and reporting any potential threats to food-safety
  • Spend extended periods of time, manually stacking and unstacking or reconfiguring cases of product from one pallet or case to another in order to build pallets or cases of varying configurations
  • Insert cases of product into packaging appropriate for shipment from the warehouse
  • Accurately picking and sorting cases of product from available inventory for the fulfillment of customer orders
  • Use radio-frequency (RF) scanners to accurately track and move inventory throughout the warehouse and prepare the inventory for shipment
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations personnel to retrieve inventory from areas of the warehouse where specialized material handling equipment is required
  • Assess pallets and cases of product and notify supervisor(s) of damage
  • Work on a variety of shifts to include evening, weekend, and overtime shifts as required
  • Assist with the training of newly hired personnel
  • Participate daily with general housekeeping of the production areas of the warehouse
