Casual Forensic Nurse Examiner

About The Position

The Forensic Nurse Examiner provides timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to victims of violence. This may include a forensic exam, laboratory testing, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings and other duties as required. The Forensic Nurse Examiner will perform suspect exams. This role will work throughout the Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Requirements

Diploma or degree in nursing and/or Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
Certificate of completion for an approved Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Adult/Adolescent or Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Pediatric course. If not completed, these trainings will be provided.
State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license and/or Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Two years hospital nursing experience and experience evaluating and caring for victims of assault, domestic abuse, child and elder abuse, neglect, and sexual crimes.
SANE-A and SANE-P certifications at time of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification provided by the American Heart Association at time of hire.
